Man slumps, dies in Akure

Residents of Igoba in Akure North Local Government area of Ondo State have called on the appropriate authority to evacuate the body of a middle age man, who reportedly slumped and died in the area.
Eyewitnesses told our correspondent that they earlier noticed the deceased, whose face was not familiar in the area sitting on a bench for some hours at a junction called, ‘Omo Bournvita.’
They said the deceased later stood up after some hours, walked a few meters and fell down.
A man who spoke under the condition of anonymity said, ”We have called the residents to evacuate the body, but they said we should go to the appropriate authority.
“We want the body to be evacuated immediately because of the effect in our society.
Another woman who sells clothes around the area said the man sat on the spot in the sun for almost seven hours, and when it was 3pm he stepped forward a little and fell on the ground.
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Tee-Leo Ikoro said arrangements have been made to evacuate the dead body.
