Man,63, remanded over murder

A 63- year-old man, Nicholas Ugbagba, has been remanded by an Akure Magistrates’ Court for alleged murder.
Ugbogbo was said to have murdered one Solomon Nzum, aged 45. with a locally made single barrel gun.
The prosecution said he shot the deceased on his chest with the gun. on November 22, 2021 at Ala Village, via Akure in the Ondo State Magisterial District.
The Police Prosecutor, Uloh Goodluck told the court that the defendant killed the victim while they were arguing over an issue.
He said the offence contravene the Provisions of Sections 316, 319 and 88 of the Criminal Code, Caps 37, Vol. 1, Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.
Goodluck, therefore made an oral application to remand the defendant in prison custody pending the out come of advice from the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
Counsel to the defendant, Mrs Ola Adedire did not oppose the application made by the prosecutor.
Magistrate Tope Alasejana ordered the remand of the defendant in Ondo Correctional Centre and adjourned the case till March 24, 2022 for mention.
