Manager docked over N10.5m fraud

A 53-year-old man, Temidayo Festus, has been dragged before a Chief Magistrate Court in Ondo town, for allegedly converting the sum of N10,580,000,million property of one Kazeem Olarewaju, to his use.
Festus, who was the manager of Coca-Cola Department of Kazolar Nigeria Limited, is facing a one-count charge bothering on stealing.
The defendant was said to have committed the offence sometimes between the months of August, 2022 to November, 2023 at various times at Kazolar Nigeria Limited, Oka- Ondo, contrary to Section 383 and punishable under Sections 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Cap 37, Volume 1, Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria 2006.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against him.
The police prosecutor, Iyabo Omolara, told the court that three witnesses would testify in the case. Hence she applied for a date to enable her study the case file.
Defence Counsel, Mr Tosin Okesola did not oppose the prosecutor’s application. But he applied for the bail of his client in the most liberal terms.
The presiding Magistrate, Mrs Toyin Olowookere, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N10million with two credible sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till January 23, 2024, for trial.
