Man’s mutilated corpse found in Ondo school

The lifeless body of a man has been discovered at Epaoluwa Primary School,  Laje road in Ondo West Local Government area of Ondo State.

The Hope Metro learnt that the yet-to-be identified young man in his early 20s, was gruesomely murdered in the school by unknown persons, suspected to be ritualists.

It was learnt that the Headmistress of the school, Mrs Caroline Fadairo, lodged a report at the police station, that an unidentified person was seen in the school premises lying in the pool of his blood and suspected to have been murdered.

It was further gathered by the police that detectives who went to the scene, confirmed that the victim was a young man, cut down in his prime.

The cause of his untimely death remained sketchy as at the time of filing this report.

Meanwhile, police officers from Funbi Fagun division in the area have been informed and are said to be on top of the situation, while the remains of the victim has been deposited at the state mortuary in the town.

The police source said investigation is ongoing on the incident.

The Hope Metro gathered that the  incident stirred mixed reactions in the area from the residents, particularly the elders and opinion leaders.

Those who spoke with our correspondent,  described the incident as an ugly and unwholesome trend for children in their formative stage to behold. 

Meanwhile, parents living within the vicinity of the school have called upon the government to upscale its security in the area to forestall further reoccurrence, especially after school hours, and when the schools are not in session.
