Many Nigerian pastors called to be native doctors – Yul Edochie

Controversial Nollywood actor and self-acclaimed cleric, Yul Edochie, has stirred fresh debate by asserting that several Nigerian pastors are meant to be native doctors.

Edochie argued that many clerics abandoned their original calling due to the influence of Western narratives and Nollywood’s portrayal of native doctors as “evil.”

He urged Nigerian pastors to reconsider their paths and embrace their true calling, stating that native doctors have a divine mission to assist humanity.

In a post on his Instagram page, Edochie wrote, “Many pastors today actually have the calling to be native doctors but they are refusing to answer the call because oyibo people brainwashed us to believe it is evil. And Nollywood has also contributed in making native doctors look evil.

“Being a native doctor is a divine call from God Almighty, it means you have been chosen to help humanity.

“A true native doctor fights evil. Unless he decides to be evil. Same way a pastor can decide to be evil.

“Go and answer your call. You may never have fulfilment in your life if you don’t answer your call.”

Edochie’s statement has sparked conversations about spirituality and cultural identity in the country.
