The mapping of Ondo State forest reserves by the state government will create visibility for farmers, it has been declared.

The Chief Executive Officer of Orbital Solution Global Services LTD, Mr Adewale Adegoke who   stated this in an interview with The Hope said the move will give farmers access to market.

Adegoke, a consultant to the state government on mapping of the state forest reserves and cultivated areas within the forest reserves said with mapping technology, the farmer is known to be growing a particular crop anywhere in the world.

According to him, aggregators can go online, check this data and contact the farmer or the farmer through the state government.

He added that the farmers will have access to credit noting that without data, it will be difficult for the state to disburse credit accurately to them.

Adegoke said government will be able to monitor the socio economic activities as it relates to deforestation of Ondo state forest reserves so that government can come up with plans to regenerate the forest.

He said further that the mapping will be able to facilitate ease of revenue collection as regards land use charge in the forest reserves.

According to him, global positioning system and other devices like drones will be used to map out the reserves.

While saying the mapping will be participatory to ensure reliable and accurate data, Adegoke said camp heads would be engaged to be able to get the farmers together.
