Market women hail ODSG

The Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) has been lauded by the Iyaloja of Igbokoda market , Chief (Mrs) Bamijoko Akinyomi for his impact in implementing projects that directly influence their businesses and improve their livelihood.

Akinyomi also commended the state governor for his sustained effort to transform the state and increasing influx of businesses into the state which according to her has resulted in more sales and activities across the markets.

She said Igbokoda market being an international market has capacity and great economic potentials for Ondo State and Nigeria at large if properly harnessed by government at all levels.

The Iyaloja equally noted that traders from all parts of the country come with various products on the market days in a large turnout.

She however appealed to the government to help in providing basic amenities such as electricity, potable water, and good road network for smooth market operations.

A trader in the market, Mrs. OmoyemI Ogunese thanked the governor for the loan scheme which was promised during their visit to his office, recently.

Omoyemi said the loan will help in promoting their businesses and help in alleviating their economic challenges.

She however called on the government to help in providing health and sanitary workers who will always help in cleaning up the market by giving it a status of a true international market.

Oyekan Arije’s book for launch

Foot Prints of a selfless servant, an autobiography of a formost  labour leader, Comrade Oyekan Arije is to be launched on Thursday December 13 in Akure, Ondo State capital.

The book, a compilation of the life journey of Arije who clocked 80 years recently recounts his community life, forage into politics, his christian life and public service.

Sources close to the book launch planning committee said the event slated for the Royal Parklane Hotel in Akure is expected to be hosted by the state governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

While labour veteran, Comrade Hassan Sunmonu will be the chairman.
