‘Marriage ’ll be monotonous without food, sex’

A fast rising Akure based Juju musician, Ebenezer Soleye with the stage name, “Omega Melody”, a native of Ayetoro, Yewa North, Ogun state, has described food and sex as major aspects to consider in marriage.

He stated this in an interview with Friday Extravaganza. Excerpts:

Some men had argued that food or sex doesn’t keep a marriage. What’s your take on this issue and what do you think sustains marriage?

To my understanding, I believe food and sex can sustain marriage because these are the major purposes of marriage.

“Sex is an important aspect in a marriage. Initially, the love and attraction is what plays a crucial role in holding the relationship together, however, with time, sex becomes significant in ensuring the longevity of a relationship. Without any sexual activity, there will be everything but intimacy.

Many times, marriages become monotonous and people start looking for other love interests outside their marital relationship. This can be as a result of an unhealthy sex life.

“If your physical relationship with your partner is on point, there is no need for distractions. That being said, sex helps one stay focused on one’s relationship. Besides being a medium of utmost pleasure, sex helps cultivate love and affection in a marriage. It helps you express your love and care for someone without even saying a word. Passion is what drives it and it can help to lead a happy married life.

“The important well-being of a responsible woman and important role as a wife is to make food for the family. Food plays a very important role in our entire life. Though I haven’t had enough experience of marriage because I’m not yet married, but I will like to give my personal example. It’s my nature and what I have adapted to, to eat three times in a day even at times, when I comes back from ministration in the midnight, I would still ensure I eat. So tell me how will I cope If I ended up marrying a lazy wife who can’t cook. So there will be a problem which can damage the entire marriage.

“Food definitely saves you as it acts like a shield which protects and reduces the damage which one can go through due to different circumstances. So, food and sex sustain and maintain a marriage and give marriage the required strength it needed to survive.

Ebenezer further stated that, women should submit to their husbands not because they are perfect, but as honor to God. Likewise, lack of trust and transparency are major aspects of contention in most marriages. Couples have redefined love to suit themselves, avoid the delusion that there is a perfect marriage.

In His love, God also instituted marriage for the good of mankind. The act is meant to bring love, joy, happiness, endurance, trust, contentment, companionship and fulfillment to the parties involved. So I believe these can sustain marriage for better, he explained.
