Massive votes await Aiyedatiwa in Idanre, APC Chief Assures

All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Idanre, Ondo State, Sunday Akinwalere, has assured bloc votes for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa from residents of Idanre and adjoining communities in the forthcoming governorship election on 16 November.

Akinwalere, who is the state’s Commissioner for Water Resources and the Idanre Local Government Coordinator for the Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organisation Foot Soldiers Independent Council (LACO-FSIC), gave the assurance over the weekend while receiving ecstatic farmers, traders, and youths who paid a solidarity visit to his country home in Idanre.

This is contained in a statement issued by Kayode FasuaState Information Director, Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organisation Foot Soldiers Independent Council (LACO-FSIC)

The enthralled residents thronged his home following the flag-off of the 10.9-kilometre Idanre-Obajare road by Governor Aiyedatiwa under the Ondo Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (Ondo RAAMP).

Idanre and its surrounding communities are reputed to be the largest cocoa producers nationwide but are constrained by the lack of adequate access roads to the farmlands.

Addressing the residents, Akinwalere stated that Aiyedatiwa is poised to bring a new lease of life to the grassroots in Ondo State.

“The award of the Idanre-Obajare road project is just the tip of the iceberg from Mr. Governor, as he has greater plans for cocoa farmers in Idanre and other neighbouring cocoa-growing communities, with the aim of enabling them to achieve bumper harvests and become prosperous.

“Governor Aiyedatiwa has also set aside over N2 billion as soft loans for peasant farmers, artisans, petty traders, and young entrepreneurs, to enable them to reap the fruits of their labour,” Akinwalere said.

He, however, debunked insinuations that the opposition is gaining ground in Idanre, stating, “No rational people will let go of a governor who is passionate about their welfare and who, within eight months in office, has touched their lives in diverse ways.”

He particularly commended the governor’s initiative in providing pipe-borne water to Idanre and the entire Central Senatorial District, noting that the project is in the pipeline.

Akinwalere, meanwhile, applauded the people of Idanre for being law-abiding, peaceful, and hardworking, urging them not to allow political differences to break the bond of unity that has been sustained since the time of their forebears.

He also expressed confidence that the forthcoming governorship election would be more of a walkover, given the numerous achievements of Governor Aiyedatiwa in less than one year in office.
