2023 budget defense by Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs in Ondo State will begin tomorrow at the Ondo State House of Assembly

The Hope gathered that the Finance and Appropriation Committee of the House has communicated the time and venue of the budget defense to all the affected  agencies.

The House had in their last sitting committed the budget which has scaled through the second reading to the Committee stage

At a plenary presided over by the Speaker of the House, Mr Bamidele Oleyelogun, he directed the Committee to do justice to the budget and submit to the House in the next three weeks.

Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu had on Monday last week presented a total Budget of N272.735,638,983.00 Billion  for the 2023 fiscal year to the State House of Assembly.

The budget, tagged “BUDGET OF SHARED PROSPERITY’ is higher than that of the 2022 fiscal year which was N199,282,437,000.00 Billion .

Earlier, the Majority Leader of the House, Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi moved a motion for the budget to move to the second reading which was seconded by a Lawmaker representing Akoko South West 1, Olugbenga  Omole

Ruling, the Speaker commended the State government for a robust budget, noting that the capital budget took the largest chunk which  is a sign of prosperity.

Oleyelogun believed that the budget is for the overall interest of the people of the State.

He charged all  Ministries, Departments and Agencies,(MDAs) to cooperate with the Committee for a smooth defense.

The Chairman, House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Akinrogunde Akintomide assured that the Committee will look critically into it and do justice to the budget proposal.

Other Lawmakers who had earlier debated on the Appropriation bill observed that the budget will add value to the people of the State and equally make the State to be viable economically.

The Parliamentarians affirmed that the budget has good vision and mission in its framework to make people enjoy the dividends of democracy .
