Mechanic flees after striking disabled man with wood over altercation

A shocking incident unfolded at the early hours of Tuesday at Irowo Quarters in Idanre local government area as a local motorcycle mechanic, identified as Tunde Ajayi, reportedly struck a disabled man with a wooden object on the head.
The victim, Tubosun, popularly called Alloy, was rescued and rushed to a private hospital while the suspect fled the scene.
Eyewitnesses said the mechanic was initially engaged in what appeared to be playful banter with the disabled.
However, the situation took a new twist when the disabled man displayed he was not in good mood.
In a fit of anger, Tubosun was said to have attempted slapping the mechanic. But in his reaction, the mechanic resorted to using a wooden object to hit the man’s head.
The impact caused the victim to suffer a significant loss of blood, prompting swift action to rush him to a nearby private hospital for medical treatment.
He was later transferred to the General hospital for proper treatment.
Our correspondent gathered that local authorities are actively searching for the suspect, who reportedly fled the scene shortly after committing the act.
The incident has left the community in shock and prompted questions about the circumstances leading to the ugly encounter.
