MFM emerges champions of Zenith Women Basketball

After what can be best described as a clean contest and show of skills, Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) female basketball team have emerged winners of the first phase of the competition in the south West zone which was decided in Akure

The Lagos based team emerged winners after winning all its five games with outstanding display to the admiration of their jubilant supporters.

Speaking to journalists after the game MFM coach Mr Aderemi Adewunmi said no game was the same and that all the teams put up a good contest. He described his players and technical crew as incredible.

 Sunshine Angels coach, Sola Aluko said despite finishing second behind MFM he will retire to the board room and train hard with the girls before the commencement of the second phase.

On his part a club owner Mr. Oyebode Adebowale called for frequent tournaments to keep the girls busy and charged NBBF and other stakeholders not to relent in engaging talents positively.

Games coordinator and a former national coach, Mr. Andrew Isokphei applauded the team spirit, oneness and positive rivalry between the players and coaches as a needed impetus for the benefit of the game.

While appreciating the officials, fans and the management of the Ondo State sports council, Coach Isokphei said the next phase will commence soon, as he commended Akure center as a peaceful center.

The six teams that were posted to Akure included MFM, Delta queens, IGP, First deep waters, Coal city queens and host Sunshine Angels.

At the end of hostilities, MFM finished top, followed by Sunshine angels and third position went to IGP.
