Minimum wage: We ‘ll start negotiations soon – Osun NLC

The Nigeria Labour Congress, (NLC), Osun state chapter has assured workers in the state of starting a dialogue with the government on the implementation of the new minimum wage.

The Secretary of the union, Comrade Rufus Adeyemi disclosed this while fielding questions from newsmen in Osogbo.

Adeyemi said necessary measures have been put in place by the labour force to enter into negotiations with the state government on the new national minimum wage.

He maintained that from the Federal to the state level, salary table has not been drawn to synchronize with the national minimum wage recently approved by the Federal Government.

He lauded Governor Gboyega Oyetola for always being on the side of the state workforce.

The NLC scribe said he can’t speak for the government about the minimum wage, but he is confident because they are partners in progress.

Adeyemi who said the union has a firm belief that the governor will approve the minimum wage, noted that Oyetola always refer to workers as his constituency.

He urged workers to block all leakages to enable the government have enough resources to implement the new wage.
