The Acting Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Ondo State, Mr. Oyekola Oyelami has said that clarification on the missing logo of the Labour Party on the ballot paper for the Saturday’s general elections in the state should be directed to the headquarters of the Commission in Abuja.
Oyelami disclosed this while reacting to the alarm raised by the party in the state over the omission of its logo on the ballot papers sent to the state.
The missing logo was discovered barely 24 hours before the Presidential and National Assembly elections scheduled to hold tomorrow.
Labour party State Secretary, Mr Agbaje Abiodun, at a press briefing in Akure on Friday said, “there is an omission of our party logo on the ballots brought by the Independent National Electoral Commission for the National Assembly (Senate and House of Representatives) elections.”
Abiodun threatened to challenge the action of INEC in court if it proceed with the election as scheduled without amendments.
When asked for clarification on the issue in a telephone interview with The Hope on Friday, the Acting REC, said “please my brother, direct your questions to the head office in Abuja”.
