Monarch lauds Osinbajo, Oyetola over road rehabilitation

Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has commended the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo and Osun state governor, Gboyega Oyetola for fulfilling their campaign promises to construct the Iwo-Osogbo road.

Oba Akanbi who gave the commendation during a visit to the state governor appreciated them for respecting peoples; popular request on the road.

The monarch who acted on a reliable tip off about the approval of the road by the Federal Government pledged his loyalty to the administration of Governor Oyetola.

He said: “Osinbajo promised that the Iwo-Osogbo road will be constructed during the last presidential campaign visit to my palace in Iwo and ensure the road is given priority, a promise made and kept.”

He equally commended the Minister of Works, Power and Housing, Babatunde Fashola for considering the road under his watch.

As hinted, the road has been consented for standard construction as the mapping and other necessary structural engineering paper designs are at top gears while work is billed to commence in earnest.

The Oluwo who described the road as the economic heart of the ancient city of Iwo, harped on expediency to meet populace expectation.

While expressing his gratitude to government, Oluwo also called for the consideration of Iwo-Ibadan road by the Federal Government  to promote bilateral economic activities between Osun and Oyo States.
