Monarch wants tricycles replace motorcycles

The Ogbolu of Itaogbolu, in Akure North Local Government of Ondo State, Oba Idowu Faborode has called for the introduction of tricycles as alternative means of transportation against the use of  motorcycles .

The monarch stated this when he led people of Itaogbolu to the state first family at the Government House Chapel in Akure yesterday.

Oba Faborode with his Olori, Chairman of Akure North Local Government, Surveyor Bankole Ogbesetore with his wife, Chiefs and people from the town were in the service to mark their Day of Prayer in the Chapel, during which thanksgivings to celebrate the last Sunday of the month of March and Mothers’ Day were held.

Addressing the congregation of the Government House Chapel, the Royal Father, Oba Idowu Faborode expressed joy that he has the opportunity to bring his people before God in reverent worship at the Chapel of the State Governor.

He described the state Governor, Arakunrin Akeredolu, (SAN), as a man of great understanding, assuring the governor of the continued support of his people in a manner like never before.

He also appealed to the State Governor to further scale up the capacities of women in diverse fields so as to enable them fulfil their divine potentials with ease.

Oba Faborode used the occasion to plead with his people to continue to pray for the success of the Akeredolu-led Administration.

In his sermon, Head, Department of Theology, Wesley University, Ondo, Very Rev Dr. Doherety Fagbiye said man is limited in divine resources for increase, but sufficient in God.

The Very Rev Fagbiye said in view of the limited capacity of man to provide for himself, the abundance of God is what man must explore to be sufficient to meet his needs in all spheres of life.

Consequently, the Clergy urged the people to submit absolutely to God because no man has the power of succeed in any position without the enablement of the Almighty.

He appreciated the commitment of the State Governor, Arakunrin Akeredolu to the service of God and his people as being currently demonstrated in projects delivery across the State.

In his remarks, Governor Akeredolu restated his administration’s resolve to continue to empower women to enable them actualise their potentials.

Governor Akeredolu said women are not lesser beings and as such must be encouraged to attain leadership positions at all levels.

He expressed happiness at the Christian values that Oba Idowu Faborode has integrated into the rulership of the people of Itaogbolu, which he said would be a change for real development.

Some of the personalities from Itaogbolu at the service include; a former Commissioner for Information in Ondo State , Chief Femi Aluko; former member of Ondo State House of Assembly, High Chief Isaac Ayeyemi;  the Principal of Oyemekun Grammar School, Akure, Chief S.T Ojo and the Mofo of Itaogbolu, Chief Bode Jayeola.

Others are the Odolofin of Itaogbolu, Chief Ojo Adesunloro; the Obaloja of Itaogbolu, Chief Ebenezer Oluwatuyi and the Agbaakin of Itaogbolu, Chief Ogunsakin.

 Earlier, the Chaplain of Government House Chapel, Akure, Venerable Benjamin had said that the Town by Town Prayer programme was inspired by the Holy Spirit and as such would turn out to be testimony for Ondo State.
