Plans are in top gear to revitalize  monthly award for workers in various MDAs in 2023 to facilitate better performance and healthy competition within the public service.

To this end, some innovative Public Servants will be given award of excellence and recognition for their roles in the development of the state.

Ondo State Head of Service, Pastor Kayode Ogundele revealed this during a press briefing of the 2022 Public Service week celebration on Monday in Akure.

According to him, it is important that enabling environment is created for officers with innovative ideas noting that the time has come to give recognition to those that have contributed to the enhancement of the image of the state.

Describing the Public Service week as one aimed at acknowledging and commemorating the prime place of Public Service in the development of African States, he explained that the four day event affords participants the privilege of gaining better understanding of extant government development agenda that is the REDEEMED Agenda, making contributions on the state bureaucracy improvement and also be better guided on their roles in governance and political dynamics.

He said that the theme of the event; “the roles of Public Servants in governance and political participation” is apt due to the political atmosphere in the country and also the need to guide and educate participants in line with the provision of the state service rules and the Constitution of Nigeria.
