As the 2023 general elections draw closer, many Nigerians have expressed interest to actively participate in next year polls.

According to them, the 2023 presidential election is pivotal to their lives and the development of the nation.

The Hope survey revealed that many of them have besieged registration centres for the permanent voter’s card while many others have transferred their voting centres to units closer to them.

Speaking in separate interviews with The Hope, they said they were happy that votes now count in the country with what happened in Osun State recently, which translates that voters can now vote for who they want without fear of ballot snatching, harassment, vote buying and other  vices.

Former Principal, Federal Government College ,Oyo, Mrs Mercy Osundahunsi, said” I have my PVC with me, I am prepared to go out on the day of the election to cast my vote. Though a lot of people believe that the elite don’t vote, but I will vote, in as much as I have my means of voting.

“I will cast my vote and at the same time pray to God to help us( the voters) choose rightly and I will also encourage others around me to do same,” she stated.

She also called on Nigerians to be ready to vote because if they do not they might end up blaming themselves  saying it might be their votes that will count.

Also, a former federal worker, Mr Matthew Famokunde, said he had already collected his PVC in readiness for the coming general elections, describing it as visa to vote.

Famokunde who said he didn’t see it as compulsory to vote before ,enthused that this time around, he would open his eyes wide to vote wisely.

Mr Olawumi Olujoka said as a Christian, it is good to vote and to also pray,” On my own I have gone all out to get my PVC despite the challenge I faced in getting it but I eventually got it and now I can exercise my franchise.”
