It was a show of shame for a middle-aged woman, Mrs Bola Obamoyegun, on Wednesday, when she was arrested for armed robbery  burglary and stealing alongside her two sons, Leye and Dele, by the operatives of the Federal Special Anti-robbery Squad (FSARS) attached to Ekiti Police Command.

Commissioner of Police in the State, Mr. Asuquo Amba, confirmed that Bola was arrested recently at Olokemeji area of Ado-Ekiti, the capital of Ekiti State after an intelligent operation carried out by the police in the area.

The Commissioner added that Bola was arrested for allegedly receiving and concealing stolen property which were proceeds of armed robbery syndicate led by one of her son, Dele,  an ex-convict and  leader of a robbery gang operating within the state.

The police boss added that during execution of search warrant in  Mrs. Obamoyegun’s house, the stolen items  recovered  proved beyond reasonable doubt that she was aware that her son is a man of questionable character.

The police explained that the suspects have made confessional statements  on the crime to the police, while valuable items recovered from them,  according to the police include,  one metal handcuff, 31 different phones, two camera video recording  and one metal axe.

Other items recovered from the house of the suspects are,  charms, eight SIM cards , one motor battery, small cutlass, one Automated Teller Machine ( ATM) the sum of N6,600, one ignition key and as well as two modem and one flash drive.

The other  Obamoyegun, Leye 26, was aslo  arrested by the police along side with his accomplice, Olaosebikan Babatunde, over alleged burglary and stealing .

According  to the police, the duo were arrested for conspiring and breaking into the residence of one Miracle Obamoyegun, where they were said to have stolen the sum of N150,000, ten mobile phones, two laptop computers and wallet containing two ATM cards.

The police explained that during investigation and interrogation, it was discovered that Bola Obamoyegun who has been apprehended by the police over a case of conspiracy and receiving stolen property, also received some of the property stolen by her son, Leye and his group, being his proceeds from an  armed robbery operation carried out by his gang at Oye Ekiti in the state.

The police added that the suspects have made confessional statements before the police , while they admitted  committing the crime and also attested to the fact that they are ex-convicts.

The commissioner of police disclosed that the suspects were still helping the police on the matter and added that they would be arraigned in the court as soon as investigation is completed on the matter.
