Motorcyclist driving against traffic crushed to death

A 38-year-old commercial motorcyclist popularly known as Okada rider has lost his life in an accident that occurred along Oba-Ile road in Akure.
Our correspondent learnt that the Okada rider, who was identified as Lekan by his colleagues, died on the spot of the accident.
An eyewitness told The Hope Metro that the deceased was heading towards Fiwasaye roundabout after he had dropped a passenger in a place not far from the scene of the accident.
It was learnt that Lekan, while on top speed tried to manoeuver his way through a wrong route drove against traffic and rammed into an oncoming vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle was reported to have hit him, leading to his death instantly as his intestine gushed out of his belly.
At the scene of the accident, sympathizers could not hold back their tears as his lifeless body was lying on the ground.
Men of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, who arrived at the scene to evacuate the corpse described the incident as unfortunate.
They advised motorists and Okada riders to be more careful and always adhere to traffic rules and regulations.
