Motorcyclist escape death in Ondo

A 38-year-old commercial motorcyclist, Dele Ayande, at the weekend escaped death by the whiskers along Idi-Ishin in Ondo kingdom, when the driver of a Toyota Camry car hit him.
The Hope Metro gathered that the driver of the Toyota Camry was trying to dodge an oncoming car that crossed his way when he hit the TVS motorcycle from the rear.
The accident which occurred around 6pm left the motorcycle rider severely injured on his head and leg.
The victim, who was rescued by sympathizers and a team of officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps, was rushed to the UNIMED Teaching Hospital for treatment.
According to an eyewitness, Stella Adewumi, “an accident involving a Toyota camry with plate number: AAA 896ND and a TVS motorcycle with plate number: AKR 552 WZ occurred between Olorunsola roundabout leading to Surulere junction.
“The rider was the only occupant and was seriously injured and has been rushed to the nearest hospital.
The police at Yaba Division confirmed the incident and said the suspect has been arrested.
However, the suspect, Ayo Omole, who claimed it was not intentional, said he wanted to dodge another vehicle that crossed his way, but mistakenly hit the motorcycle.
Efforts to speak with the victim proved abortive as medical personnel were attending to him when The Hope Metro visited him at the Accident and Emergency section of the TRAUMA Centre in UNIMEDTH, Ondo.
