Two people were reportedly killed while one other was injured in an accident around Elemoshi area of Bolunduro along Akure/Ondo road.

The accident which happened on Sunday morning involved a motorcycle marked NND 218OC and an unregistered Toyota Hilux.

The Hope Metro gathered that the motorcycle, suspected to have been on top speed, wrongly overtook a car coming from Akure and facing the Hilux heading to Abuja.

Eyewitnesses recount that the accident was caused by the overspeeding of both drivers as the driver of the vehicle was left with no option but to run off the motorcycle carrying two people including a woman.

“The driver of the ill-fated motorcycle while a top speed suddenly overtook the car to hit the vehicle and left two persons dead, with one other seriously injured.

“Having noticed that an accident had occurred, the driver of the Hilux, a policeman, and some of its occupants took to their heels leaving one whose legs have been injured, by the roadside.

“ Two out of the three persons on the motorcycle suspected to be coming from church died on the spot while the other was unconscious”, she said.

As at time of filing this report, effort to speak with the FRSC officials proved abortive.

The Hope Metro, however, gathered that the Injured victim had been taken to the nearest hospital for treatment, while the corpses of the dead victims had been deposited at the morgue.
