Motorcyclists storm Amotekun office to recover seized bikes

Motorcyclists whose motorcycles were seized for violating the 6pm ban on commercial motorcycle operation in Ondo state have stormed the headquarters of the Ondo State Security Network Agency to reclaim their confiscated bikes.

It would be recalled that the state government placed a ban on the operation of commercial motorcycles from 6pm daily to curb criminal activities.

Hundreds of  violators were seen perfecting the collection of their motorcycles when, The Hope visited the Alagbaka office of Amotekun, yesterday

Speaking with The Hope, some of the motorcycle owners expressed appreciation to Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for his magnanimity and promised to obey the law.

One of the violators, Olaniyi Oluwaseun who expressed gratitude said  I have come to recover my bike that was seized two months ago.

I didn’t understand the law that was on ground. I would like to say that people should ensure they know the latest at all times. As the men of Ondo Amotekun corps should continue to their good job.”

The Special Adviser on Security Matters to Governor Akeredolu, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, said that the government has resumed enforcement of the ban on motorcycle operations.

“The Government of Ondo State encourages all vehicle and motorcycles owners to register their vehicles/motorcycles as defaulters would be made to face the full wrath of the law accordingly.

“The determination of the administration of Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, to ensure the protection of lives and property of the  people of Ondo State remains a top priority,”Adeleye added.
