The Hope correspondent who visited the road discovered that major part of the road has been washed away by erosion as many vehicles became stuck.

One of the motorists who spoke with our correspondent, Mr Bamidele Joseph, said he had to sleep over at Idoani because it was dangerous to pass the road at night due to its deplorable state.

He noted that motorists are finding it very difficult to pass through the road.

He said, “The road is so deplorable to the extent that vehicles like hilux and jeeps cannot ply it talk less of cars. The only vehicles you can find on the road are trailers and it’s still not easy for them to pass through.

“Some people have been there for five days, they can’t move. When you get there you will see fallen trailers of petrol and those carrying loads as well,” he said.
