The wife of Ondo State Governor and BEMORE founder, Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu has made a clarion call to well meaning citizens of the State to join her in building BEMOME permanent site at Emure-Ile, along Owo road.
She made the call at the closing ceremony of 2023 BEMORE Summer Bootcamp held at Mabest College Oke-Ijebu, Akure where 350 participants who have acquired life changing skills for the two weeks programme were presented laptops and certificates.
Mrs Anyanwu-Akeredolu who spoke virtually congratulated the girls for the completion of the programme and described this year’s edition as unique because of her absence as she charged the girls to go and conquer the world.
She said: “Haven built over three thousand vibrant young women who are making waves on different fronts around the world, it is only ideal to build for these geniuses a place they all can call a home; a befitting edifice where the generations of Bemore girls would freely meet, interact and make things happen. We are therefore calling on all well meaning citizens, government, corporate bodies, donor agencies to join us in building a home, our own Jerusalem, for these problem solvers; to join us in securing a legacy that will outlive us all and last for generations.
“It will interest you to note that land has been acquired at Emure-Ile, along Owo road, and the designs are ready. Please, check out the designs, well displayed on the bill boards for you to appreciate and make commitments. I, therefore call on you, my friends, associates and political enthusiasts, to join hands with me in erecting enduring halls, hostels etc that would stand as a memorabilia in your honour when we have all gone; to donate structures in your names that would remind the world into the far future of what roles you played in the struggle for the emancipation of the girl child in this nation and the continent even when we are no longer here.
“As I crave your sincere support and commitment towards the success of this illustrious project, individually, as government and corporate bodies, I would like to mention that we have a goal to hold the next Bemore boot camp at the permanent site, and we believe that this is achievable with your kind support.”
The Acting Governor, Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa, lauded the initiative of the First Lady for impacting positively in the girls’ lives saying that Mrs Akeredolu has given BEMORE girls life empowerment going by what they displayed. He added that they’ve come, see, trained and conquered.
His words: “ My sterling BEMORE girls, the ball is now in your court. | charge you to go into the world and conquer. The time to rule the world is noe. You have been equipped to explore the opportunities out there and make your positive impacts. | am sure that by this season next year many of you would come back with incredible and souk lifting stories about your positive impacts on humanity.”
The special guest of honoure, Hon Jimi Odumayo, who congratulated the participants and Mrs Anyanwu-Akeredolu for the successful completion of this year’s BEMOME edition assured the First Lady that BEMORE programme has come to stay and will continue to florish.
While urging the participants to utilize the knowledge acquired to solve life challenges, he added that Ondo State government must ensure that the platform lives. “This is a special talent that will see you through life challenges. Go out and impact the world positively so that we can be proud of you.”
