Mrs. Olakunori’s killer suspect: Police tighten security over attempted escape

There are indications that the prime suspect in Pa Fasoranti’s daughter’s murder, Adamu Adamu attempted to escape from the hospital where he was being treated for COVID-19,  a source within the Ondo State Police Command has revealed to The Hope Metro.

Police authoritative source disclosed that the suspect currently undergoing treatment at the Infectious Disease Hospital, in Akure, had used different tactics and attempts to escape.

It was learnt that his alleged plan was aborted by the timely intervention of police detectives posted to guard the hospital.

According to the source, the police noticed that each time the suspect took permission to ease himself, he would stay for a long time in the toilet.

To prevent his escape, the Command said it has tightened up security around the premises of the Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH) in Akure,

Reports reaching The Hope Metro indicated that the suspect has been chained to his hospital bed to forestall escape from the hospital.

Consequently, there is heavy presence of policemen drafted to keep their  eyes on the suspect following his suspicious attempts.

Shortly after the suspect tested positive on the day of his arraignment, the state Police Command assured that necessary security would be beefed up around  the hospital.

 However, the state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Tee-Leo Ikoro said he would visit the IDH centre to ascertain the situation.

He said the command had beefed up adequate security around the centre where the suspect is receiving treatment, assuring that the police will protect the suspect until he recovers to face trial going by the importance and sensitivity of the case.

Ikoro advised the people to continue to observe all precautionary measures outlined by government to prevent further spread of the pandemic in the state.
