Gospel juju musician, Olasehinde Ogunlola in an interview with Weekend Extravaganza, revealed that music for him is not a job or just something to keep busy with, but his love and passion.
According to him, he started singing at a very tender age by imitating musicians.”I have had this passion for music right from my childhood and I can say that my love for beautiful music got me into it. I do imitate artistes like Shina Peter, Frank Edward and others,” he said.
The singer added that he began singing professionally in 2010 after engaging in some musical shows on radio.
“I started singing officially in 2010, although I don’t have a personal album yet, but I was the lead in my Church’s most recent album titled “IJERE OKAN”. For now, that’s my best because it’s being played on the radio every time the church’s radio programme is on air. We’re already working on another album which would be out very soon.
“So this motivated me to release my own song that I have been writing for so long,” he added.
Olasehinde also added that it is not an easy thing combining music and business. “It has not been easy because I am also into business. And there are sometimes I will be on business trip and there will also be shows for me to attend, but all the same, I try to combine them all.”
Furthermore, he said: “I have what it takes in the music industry because I have the talent and consistency which is the key to success.
“When people come to church, they have different things bothering them and I always hope to help alleviate their worries through music and at the same time reignite their consciousness of heaven.
So, I want to make people forget their worries with my music and do a kind of evangelism ( though not from the pulpit but from the stage )”, he added.
