‘My family disowns me because of music’

A Nigerian musician, Ogunleye Temidayo, popularly known by his stage name ,DJ Temmy has narrated how his family disowned him because of the love he has for music.
“I ventured into music in the year 2004, immediately I graduated from higher institution ,but felt discouraged by my family’s attitude towards me because all my daddy wanted from me was to be a lawyer which I don’t want to be.”
During an interview with Friday Extravaganza, he noted that despite his family’s discouragement he still made it in the music industry.
“My desire has been in music since I was in primary school, Olufela Kuti (baba Fela) happened to be my mentor then, so I opted for music immediately I graduated from school .
“Without looking at my family’s attitude towards me, I started music and I don’t depend on anybody.
“After some time, I was voted as the Treasurer of Ondo State D.J Association.
“I didn’t go into music because I wanted to be famous but to let the young ones know that they can make it even without anybody’s support .”
