‘My husband records our love making’
Audience at a Grade A Customary Court sitting in Owo, were amazed on Monday, when a 29-year-old hairdresser, Mrs Taye Ogunbodede, told the court how her husband used his phone to record them during sex.
The petitioner, Taye had approached the court and sought for the dissolution of her 12-year -old marriage with her husband, Mr Wande Ogunbodede.
She claimed her estranged husband beat her constantly, while he used to threaten her life and does not care for the family.
According to her, the man was found of checking her phone all the time to ascertain who called her, after which he would accuse her of infidelity.
“Each time my husband demands for sex and I refused, he would beat a hell out of me. He would use objects like pestle and cable wire to beat me.
“One day, we fought because of sex. And I declined having sex with him because I saw used condom in our sitting room, which made me to suspect him.
“There was a time my husband and I, were having sex. Unknown to me, my husband was using his phone to record and I asked why he was doing that.
“He lied to me that he was only watching sex film, so he could be more active in bed.
In his defence, the 31-year-old bricklayer, Ogunbodede did not deny the allegations.
The respondent who explained his own side to the court, alleged his wife of being promiscuous.
He accused her of always receiving strange calls, which led to their frequent fights.
He told the court that they used to fight virtually everyday, pointing accusing fingers at his wife whom he said he had reported to her mother, with no positive response.
The respondent admitted threatening, saying, “This happened when I discovered my wife used to chat with another man on whatsapp. She does not have time for me at all, particularly when it is time for sex.
In his ruling, the presiding judge, Mr Dapo Adebayo held, “In view of the explanation of both parties, I discover they were not meant for each other.
He, consequently, dissolved the marriage and also ordered that the first two children of the marriage should be in the custody of the man. While the last born should be with the mother.
