…Selection based on merit – Ologunloluwa

Executive Chairman of Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA) Bamidele Ologunloluwa has affirmed that selection of players for Sunshine Stars Youth Team ahead of the N-Youth League Cup kicking off September 8, 2024 is based on merit.

The ODSFA Boss made the remarks while interacting with the coaching crew and backroom staff of the Team.

Seventy three (73) players across the three senatorial districts of Ondo State were in camp for two weeks to select the best thirty (30) players ahead of the pre-season tour of Lagos and Ogun states.

According to Ologunloluwa, “players must be selected based on merit. Nobody will force or put pressure on the coaching crew and management of Sunshine Stars youth team on selection of players.

“We are going to be strict and firm in the selection of players for the youth team. Let’s us be fair as we pick the best of the players moving forward

“I want to charge the coaching crew to be professional as the team prepare for Lagos and Ogun states before returning to Akure to play their first home game against Shuffle Select of Lagos at the football pitch of the Agency.”

Earlier, Sunshine Stars Youth Team defeated Elite Club one nil through a penalty scored by Ariyo Ikulanberu.

Sunshine Stars Youth Team are in Group B of the Southern Conference comprising 15 teams.
