NA kicks off 2025 training study period, seeks stronger security synergy

The Commander, Training and Doctrine Command, Nigerian Army (TRADOC NA), Major General Kevin Aligbe, has declared open the 2025 Department of Training In-House Study Period.

In a statement made available to The Hope by the Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations Training and Doctrine Command, Nigerian Army, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, said the gesture underscored the crucial role of capacity building and structured training in enhancing joint military operations.

The event, held at the TRADOC NA Auditorium in Minna yesterday, brought together top military officers, resource persons, and stakeholders to deliberate on contemporary security challenges and strategies for optimising training effectiveness.

With the theme “Promoting Capacity Building through Effective Training for Joint Operations,” the study period aims to foster an interactive platform for participants to exchange ideas on evolving military challenges.

Represented by the Chief of Research Development, Test, and Evaluation (CRDT&E), Major General Aminu Chinade, General Aligbe highlighted the significance of the study period as a key training initiative within TRADOC’s 2025 forecast of events.

He emphasised the forum’s role in advancing a professionally responsive Nigerian Army in alignment with the Chief of Army Staff’s Command Philosophy.

According to him, the Nigerian Army has undergone significant transformation, adopting a dynamic and pragmatic approach to enhance operational efficiency within joint and multi-agency environments.

He further stressed the necessity of synergy between the Nigerian Army and security partners to leverage global advancements, urging participants to engage actively in discussions to generate practical solutions that will strengthen professional competence and improve the nation’s security framework.

General Aligbe expressed deep appreciation to the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, for his unwavering support in making the study period a reality, reaffirming TRADOC’s commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Earlier, the Chief of Training, TRADOC NA, Major General Peter Okoye, commended the expertise of the carefully selected resource persons, expressing confidence in their ability to provide insightful perspectives on pressing security issues.

He encouraged participants to contribute meaningfully to discussions, noting that the study period’s outcomes would play a pivotal role in shaping the Nigerian Army’s training policies and operational strategies.

Participants included personnel from the Headquarters Training and Doctrine Command Nigerian Army, 31 Artillery Brigade, 313 Artillery Regiment, as well as members of the National Youth Service Corps, all stationed within the Minna Military Cantonment.
