The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has once again demonstrated its commitment to strengthening civil-military relations through a notable educational intervention in Katsina State.

In line with the directive of the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, to prioritise non-kinetic operations and community-focused initiatives, the Air Component Commander of Operation FANSAN YANMA (ACC OPFY), Air Commodore Ibrahim Garba Jibia, led a strategic outreach at Kurhundu Primary School in Katsina.

This was contained in a statement issued by Director of Public Relations and Information,
Headquarters, Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame. made available to The Hope.

According to the statement, “Guided by the CAS’ vision, “In every flight we take, every mission we complete, we honour our commitment to protect the freedom and future of our citizens”, the NAF unit embarked on a multi-phase engagement aimed at uplifting local education standards.

As part of the initiative, vital learning materials were donated to pupils, and the school’s infrastructure was assessed over multiple visits.

The NAF team also interacted with teaching staff, offering guidance on modern teaching techniques and demonstrating best practices within classroom settings.

Following the evaluation, the NAF renovated one of the school’s classrooms, significantly improving conditions for both teachers and learners.

The intervention inspired further action, prompting the Katsina State Government to renovate an additional classroom and approve the construction of a new one, which is currently underway.

The initiative reflects the NAF’s broader strategy of using non-kinetic efforts to build trust and promote cooperation with host communities in areas of operation.
