NANS passes vote of confidence on FUOYE VC, inaugurates zonal executives

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), has passed a vote of confidence in the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye Ekiti (FUOYE), Prof. Abayomi Fasina, and the Chairman of the University’s Governing Council, Sen. Victor Ndoma-Egba.

NANS announced this decision in Oye Ekiti, during the inauguration of the zonal executives of the student union.

The Senate President of NANS, Akinteye Babatunde, stated that the vote of confidence was based on the numerous achievements of the vice chancellor and the academic excellence demonstrated by students of the institution in recent years.

He highlighted that Prof. Fasina has completed approximately 130 projects within the university and expanded its faculties from eight to thirteen.

“Prof. Fasina has completed about 130 projects, increased the number of faculties from eight to thirteen, and the university now offers about 130 programmes.

“He is also set to commission 21 additional projects,” Babatunde said.

In response, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Fasina appreciated the student body for their support and for the award given to him.

He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives and policies aimed at improving the standard of education across the country.

 Highlight of the event was the presentation of Award of Excellence to the Vice Chancellor for his immense contributions to the education sector in Nigeria.
