The National Association of Ondo State Students (NAOSS), has elected new executives who will pilot the affairs of the students’ body for the next two years.
This followed the expiration of the tenure of the outgoing executives led by the President, Com. Mary Ogunga.
The newly elected executives are; Sen. Oyelade Hammed, President, Comr. Benjamin Ayodeji, Vice President; Comr. Oluwayemj Fakuyi, General Secretary; Comr. Adesida Oluwamuyiwa, Assistant General Secretary; Comr. Omotayo Oluwaseyi, Financial Secretary; Comr. Ibinuolapo sola, Treasurer and Comr. Akeem Salami, Public Relations Officer.
Others include, Comr. Tolorunloju Happiness, Director of Social, Comr. Segun Akinloye, Director of Sport, Comr. Kayode Agbaje, Dir. of Special Duties; Sen. Daniel Ayomide, Senate President; Sen. Obebe Michael, Deputy Senate Speaker; Sen. Abilogun Oluwanbe, Clerk; and Sen. Agnes Kafayat, Chief Whip;
The new President, Sen. Oyelade Hammed, in his acceptance speech appreciated his colleagues for the confidence reposed in him, and solicited the support and cooperation of all towards achieving their collective goal for the betterment of all students of Ondo State origin.
He assured that his “Reinvigoration team” will not compromise the interest of Ondo State Students, but work towards fulfilling the promises they made in their manifestoes.
“Our campaign centered around a vision of progress and unity, and we will uphold these principles as we take on our elected responsibilities. During our campaign, we focused on several initiatives, including national anthem creation, capacity building, digital skills training, governor discussion forum, sports, NAOSS TV, emergency response unit, national tech summit, security summit, economic summit, indigenous association alignment, leadership retreat, bursary and scholarship, and skill acquisition. We aim to work tirelessly to address the concerns of our constituents and create a better future for everyone”, the new President said.
The new President acknowledged the tireless efforts of the outgoing NAOSS National President, Mary Ogunga and the Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Irewole Alli, for their sacrifice, dedication and commitment towards the betterment of the students body, and the vital role they played by laying the precedence of a free and fair elections to ride on.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Irewole Alli, described the election that produced the new executives as free, fair and transparent.
Outgoing President, Mary Ogunga, expressed confidence and the new executive members will build on her outstanding achievements to further protect the interest of students of the state origin and take their association to a greater height.
