NAPHER-SD: OSSC GM, Fagite promises to prioritise grassroots sports devt

General Manager of the Ondo State Sports Council (OSSC), Mr Sunday Fagite has promised to prioritise grassroots Sports development across the state.
He added that he will not deny staff of the council their legitimate rights, adding that his management team will not also condone any act of indiscipline.
He stated this while receiving members of Nigeria Association for Physical and Health Education Recreation, Sports and Dance (NAPHER-SD) in Akure the state capital.
Fagite who is the state Vice Chairman of (NAPHER-SD), thanked members of the Association for the visit, saying with God on his side, he will continue to contribute to the development of the association within and outside the state.
He urged the association not to leave the development of sports in the state for him alone, saying he needs support and positive advise from members of the association.”
“My door is open for positive ideas, from both our members and the staff of the council on how we can rapidly develop the sports.”
He said: “Grassroots sports development is my priority and I have started it with the ‘catch them young’ programmes where we are organising champions for students across the state.”
“As General Manager of the sports council and Vice Chairman of NAPHER-SD, we will use the opportunity for the growth of sports development in the state.”
While speaking, Ondo State Chairman of
NAPHER-SD, Otunba Sylvester Ikuejamoye congratulated the General Manager for his elevation to his current position.
Ikuejamoye said the association embarks on the courtesy visit to identify with Vice Chairman who found favour from above to be elevated to the position of General Manager of the sports council.
He charged the General Manager to be innovative and run an open door policy.
“We are not here because you are a General Manager, but because you are Vice Chairman and we must ensure you succeed in your current position “
“For you to succeed, you must ensure that you carry your staff along in the scheme of things, and make sure you remember your constituency which is (NAPHER-SD).”
“Make sure you make use of all these professionals for sports development”, he stated.
