The Speaker, Ondo State House of Assembly, Mr Bamidele Oleyelogun has described the emergence of Sen. Ahmed Lawan and Mr Femi Gbajabiamila as the Senate President and Speaker of the 9th National Assembly respectively, as a good development.
He stated this in a telephone interview with The Hope.
Oleyelogun opined that the present leadership of the National Assembly would support President Muhammadu Buhari in his determination to take the country to the next level of greatness as he starts his second term in office.
Oleyelogun explained that with the good antecedents and the caliber of the present leadership of the National Assembly, there would be robust and cordial working relationship between the Executive and Legislative arms of government which would further translate to good governance and overall development of the nation.
He also called on all Nigerians, regardless of political and religious affinity to contribute their quotas to entrench democratic governance in the country.
“What we have seen is democracy in action. The lawmakers have spoken through their votes without ethnic or religious affiliation and we believe the leaders will justify the confidence reposed in them.
“We also believe that they will always act in the overall interest of Nigerians and defend the constitution of the nation “, he stated.
