The Chairman, Ekiti State Kick-Boxing Association, Prince Adekunle Ogidi, has presented equipment worth millions of naira to the state government, in preparation for the National Sports Festival (NSF) in Ogun State.

Prince Ogidi, made the presentation at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium sports  hall in Ado-Ekiti, saying the donation is to compliment  sports development in the state.

The chairman, noted that the gesture was due to the investment been championed by the sports loving governor of the state, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji.

According to him, “the initiative is an opportunity and a divine responsibility for him to support the governor and to make the dreams of the young talents reality, as they prepare for the national sports festival very soon.

“the gesture is a clarion call to service and another gesture to reduce crime and other social vices among the youths engaging in sporting activities in the state”.

He charged the seven Representatives who will represent the state in Kick-Boxing to make good use of the equipment to win laurels for the state, promising to reward them with a personal donation of N100,000 cash gifts for gold, N50,000 for silver and N30K,000 for bronze medals.

In her speech, after the presentation of the sporting equipment, the Technical Advisor, to the Governor on Sports Development, Dr. (Mrs.) Olusola Osetoba, commended the donor and members of the Kick-Boxing Association for their kind gesture.

Mrs. Osetoba pointed out that the donor has been very supportive, kind and accessible to sports development since his inauguration by the governor for the athletics to succeed at the NSF in Abeokuta.

Items donated to the state government include 10 pieces of groin guard, 2 pieces of chin guard (Colour Red), 2 pieces of chin guard (Colour Blue), 16 pieces of mouth guards, 2 pieces of 90 kg punching bags, 5 pieces of fighting shorts (Blue colour and 7 pieces of fighting shorts (Orange colour).

Others items are: 1 pair of sparing gloves (Colour Blue), 1 pair of sparing gloves (Colours Red), 2 pieces of head guard (Colour Red), 2 pieces of head guard (Colour Blue), 2 pairs of kicking pads (Orange colour), 2 pairs of kicking pad (Blue colour), 4 pieces of coaching thighs target and 2 pieces of coaching chest guard.
