By Josephine Oguntoyinbo

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Ondo State chapter, has reaffirmed its commitment to championing women’s rights and empowerment, seeking enhanced collaboration with the state government to drive meaningful change.

Leading a delegation of female journalists on a courtesy visit to the Special Adviser to the Governor on Women’s Affairs, Dr Seun Osamaye, NAWOJ Chairperson, Comrade Tola Gbadamosi, commended her for her efforts in advancing the welfare of women.

Gbadamosi, who congratulated Osamaye on her appointment, noted that the association had long maintained a working relationship with the Women’s Affairs office. She expressed confidence in the adviser’s ability to introduce impactful policies that would uplift women across the state.

“We have seen the dedication you bring to your role, and we believe in your capacity to drive real change for women’s emancipation and development,” she stated.

As part of its advocacy efforts, NAWOJ extended an invitation to Osamaye for its upcoming NAWOJ Week Dinner and Award Night, an event aimed at recognising individuals making significant contributions to women’s rights and welfare.

In response, Osamaye lauded NAWOJ’s continuous support and assured the association of her willingness to strengthen the partnership for better service delivery.

She stressed the need for sustained collaboration in tackling issues affecting women, pledging to work closely with the association to implement progressive initiatives.

The visit underscored the shared vision of both parties in fostering gender equality and ensuring that women in Ondo State have access to opportunities for growth and empowerment.
