NAWOJ to set Akure aglow with 2025 week-long fiesta

 The Ondo State Chapter of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), is set to mark its year 2025 NAWOJ Week, a celebration of resilience, sisterhood, and excellence in journalism.

The  line-up of events for the week-long festivity, which will run from Sunday, April 13 to Thursday, April 17, promises a cocktail of spiritual, recreational, and honourary activities aimed at strengthening bonds among women journalists and projecting their collective accomplishments.

The fanfare will kick off with a soul-lifting Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, April 13, at Favour Generation Church, Fanibi, Akure by 10:00 a.m.

On Tuesday, April 15,  NAWOJ members will lock horns in a friendly novelty football match with members of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), by 4.00pm at Ijapo Estate Field.

The programme continues on Wednesday, April 16, with a “Girls’ Time Out” with the grand finale on Thursday, April 17, at the NUJ Press Centre, Adegbemile, Akure.

Echoing her sentiments, chairperson of the Planning Committee, Foluke Amodu, assured that the programme is not only well-packaged, but also intentionally inclusive.
