NBA to uphold Akeredolu’s legacy at candlelight gathering

In a solemn candlelight event, Members of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) paid a heartfelt condolence visit to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa at the government house expressing their sympathies over the passing of former Governor Rotimi Akeredolu. Attended by the Governor, alongside Commissioner for Justice Charles Titiloye (SAN), Deputy Chief of Staff Segun Omojuwa, among others, the visit aimed to provide unwavering support to the new governor during this trying period.

Governor Aiyedatiwa commended the NBA for their steadfast commitment and genuine support extended to the late Governor Akeredolu, both during his lifetime and amidst this poignant moment. Expressing his gratitude, the governor remarked, “What you have done this night is commendable… it means all you were doing before when he was alive are not eye services but genuine love, this means a lot to me personally.”

Reflecting on the late governor’s impactful legacy, Governor Aiyedatiwa portrayed Governor Akeredolu as a fearless legal luminary and a dedicated leader whose commitment to justice and service to the people earned him the esteemed title of “Senior Advocate of the Masses.”

Governor Aiyedatiwa, in turn, thanked the NBA members for their solidarity and vowed to uphold the late governor’s legacy. “We will ensure we complete all the ongoing projects he left behind,” affirmed the governor. He earnestly appealed for continuous prayers, emphasizing, “All you can do for us right now is to continue to pray for us that God should grant all of us the fortitude to bear this loss.”

The NBA’s presence at this candlelight gathering signified their unwavering commitment to support and perpetuate the late Governor Akeredolu’s impactful work, ensuring that his legacy remains an illuminating beacon guiding the state’s governance and legal sphere.
