NBTE accredits RUGIPO’s 68 programmes

By Adeboye Ado

The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has awarded accreditation to 68 academic programmes at Rufus Giwa Polytechnic (RUGIPO) in Owo, Ondo State.

Rector of the institution, Mr. Simon Olorunwa Adegun, revealed the news, highlighting that RUGIPO achieved a perfect 100% success rate in the 2025 accreditation exercise conducted by the NBTE.

Adegun attributed the polytechnic’s success to the strong leadership of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, whose support for academic excellence played a significant role.

He also praised the institution’s management team for their careful planning and dedication, which contributed to the achievement.

“The accreditation process examines institutions on multiple fronts, including academic programmes, infrastructure, faculty, and other critical areas. RUGIPO’s flawless score underscores its commitment to upholding high educational standards in line with NBTE requirements,” Adegun explained.

The rector expressed confidence that this accomplishment would not only bolster the institution’s reputation but also attract more students and academic staff.

He also believed it would enhance the polytechnic’s standing among Nigeria’s higher education institutions.

Adegun concluded by reaffirming his commitment to continuous improvement, commending the NBTE for its role in the accreditation process, and urging staff to maintain their dedication to the institution’s ongoing success.
