The Consultant of the about to be concluded Niger Delta Sports Festival, DUNAMIS ICON, Itiako Ikpokpo has assured all athletes in all the various camps to remain calm, as their allowances must get to them before end of today, Tuesday, 8th of April, 2025.

Ikpokpo stated this while reacting to athletes who are protesting over the delayed payment of their allowances and their coaches.

Athletes across different camps had refused to allow their coaches and other officials to participate in the closing ceremony of the event.

Reacting further, Ikpokpo explained that over 4,000 athletes are billed to receive payments through REMITA, hence their details being currently processed at the bank.

“Immediately these details are uploaded, they will start receiving alerts. At least, nothing less than Six states must receive their payments today”, he assured through a phone call to this reporter.

Dunamis explained that the NDDC being the sponsor of this project is very prepared and has made available everything, including all allowances, hence nothing to worry about.

The maiden edition of the Niger Delta Sports Festival in Uyo, Akwa-Ibom State is coming to an end today, and organizers are all on heat to ensure it ends all well as designed.
