NDE trains 30 in Ondo

No fewer than 30 people are benefitting from the ongoing Environmental Beautification Training Scheme by the National Directorate of Employment, NDE, in Ondo State.

Declaring the training opening, Director General of NDE, Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo said the scheme will combat the menace of unemployment in the country and reduce poverty.

Represented by the Ondo State Coordinator, Revd G. C. Olumehintade, Fikpo said the scheme will boost job creation and and public works programmes

He said successful participants will be empowered with the starter packs .

“EBTS is implemented at two levels; An introductory level where employable skill training in the classroom conducted during the orientation for participants and experimental learning, experiences transferring hard and soft landscaping and Plaster of Paris, POP skills at competent levels offered through on-the-job training, coaching and mentoring by placement of participants with experience trainers who are private landscaping provider operating in the informal sectors.

“The objective of EBTS by design is an appropriate vehicle to implement strategic policy action towards improving employability of our youths, closing the skills gaps through targeted skill to job training building a competent workforce of technicians and artisans and providing the required incentives for the informal private landscaping services provider to expand opportunities for traineeship by young new entrants into the labour market.”

He thanked the government and people of Ondo State for their support and good working relationship with NDE over the years.

He enjoined the beneficiaries to avail themselves of the opportunity to them by keeping to the rules and regulations of the scheme.
