NDE trains 50 Ondo youths
No fever than 50 unemployed youths are undergoing training on Youth Transformation Training Scheme, YTTS in Ondo State by the National Directorates of Employment, NDE.
Declaring open the training on behalf of the Director-General of NDE, Mallam Abubarkar Fikpo, Ondo State Coordinator of the scheme, Mr. O. M. Adelodun said the training is to expose the youths to new technologies.
Major focus of the scheme according to Adelodun is on welding, ICT, Hair dressing, Tailoring, and Catering.
He said the carefully selected trainees who will undergo in-depth training for a period ranging from three – 18 months have Seasoned Trainers to take them through the nitty-gritty of their selected trade as it is expected that they will not remain the same after the period of training.
NDE boss charged the beneficiaries to take the opportunity serious, be punctual and regular at their various workshops and most importantly listen attentively to their trainers.
“Unemployment is growing at an alarming rate in the country as the white collar jobs are dwindling by the day, companies are downsizing and most importantly, the graduated youths do not possess employability skills needed to be employed.”
