NDSF: Doko grabs another gold for team Ondo in scrabble

Team Ondo added another gold medal to their haul at the ongoing 2025 Niger Delta Sports Festival, as Oluwatimilehin Doko emerged champion in the Scrabble Masters category, while Tunde Saporu settled for bronze.
In traditional wrestling, Boluwaji Akinniwesi and Marvelous Otemuyiwa claimed silver medals in the 60kg (male) and 70kg (female) categories, respectively.
Boluwaji fell to Delta State in the final, while Otemuyiwa lost to Bayelsa.
Azee Kafayat secured a bronze medal in the female 60kg category after losing to Imo State in the semi-final.
In men’s tennis, Henry Aina saw off his Rivers State opponent 2-1 (4-2, 1-4, 10-7) in a hard-fought contest.
Peter Ezuba clinched silver in the men’s singles, while Ojo Funmilayo earned bronze in the women’s table tennis event.
Ondo State’s male basketball team got off to a flying start, defeating Abia 45-34 in their opening game, before edging Delta 36-32 in their second encounter. One game remains to determine who tops the table.
Meanwhile, the female basketball team has booked a place in the semi-finals.
In handball, Team Ondo trounced Rivers 19-12 and went on to crush Akwa Ibom 19-10 in their second game.
