Tolu Ogundolire has won Team Ondo’s first gold medal at the ongoing Niger Delta Sports Festival in the women’s para-powerlifting 45kg category.

Akinnuwesi Boluwaji also secured a silver medal in traditional wrestling, while Oluwafemi Sunday and Esther Edema bagged silver and bronze in the men’s and women’s 100 metres para-athletics, respectively.

Ondo State’s male football team played out a 1-1 draw against Imo State, while the female team secured a walkover victory against Edo State, earning three goals and three points in their opening game.

However, Team Ondo suffered a 0-2 defeat to Rivers State in volleyball.

The competition continues tomorrow (Friday).
