The General Manager of Osun State Emergency Management Agency, Bilal Adiat has raised alarm over a release issued by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA),warning about imminent heavy downpour that may lead to potential flooding in 19 States and 56 communities across Nigeria this month.
In an interview with pressmen in his office, Bilal harped on the need to take precautionary measures to prevent flooding.
According to him, NEMA’ s Lagos Territorial Coordinator, Ibrahim Farinloye, said that Osun State, particularly Osogbo and Ilesa communities are among those that are susceptible to the imminent flooding.
He however, advised the residents of Osun State to desist from dumping refuse in drainages, and avoid blocking water ways in any form, warning that water will always find its way.
