New Ondo CP resumes duty

The newly posted Commissioner of Police in Ondo state, Mr Undie Adie yesterday arrived Akure, the Ondo State capital.

The Police Commissioner on arrival in Akure immediately summoned a meeting with the Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs), Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs), Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), Heads of Departments and other senior officers from the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASPs).

The meeting was held at the Police Officers Mess along Adekunle Ajasin road in Akure.

The new police boss was accompanied to the meeting by the outgoing Police Commissioner, Mr Olugbenga Adeyanju who used the medium to officially introduce his successor to the officers of the command .

Adeyanju in his valedictory speech, urged the police officers to give the new police helmsman the maximum cooperation that would make him succeed in his primary assignment which is protecting lives and property and maintenance of law and order in the state .

The outgoing police boss who commended the officers for the support they gave him throughout his stay in the state, also enjoined them to extend the same hands of fellowship to the new man.

The new police boss appreciated his predecessor, for his efforts and assured him that he will sustain and improve on all the security strategies he met on ground saying police work is a continuous one.

Adie used the forum to solicit for the support all officers including rank and files while imploring them to rededicate themselves to the task ahead especially the forthcoming general elections adding that every police man has a role to play in ensuring peace, before, during and after the elections.

He warned them against any act capable of putting them into trouble and called on the DPOS to be more proactive and committed to their duty  and ensure that they supervise their men posted to various beats across the state..

The Cross Rivers born Police Commissioner, while appreciating them for their efforts in the areas of crime prevention, detection and control, said the Police is saddled with the duty of maintaining peace in the land and will continue to do its best in  ensure that everyone sleeps with their two eyes closed.
