Neymar tests positive to COVID-19, says Santos

Neymar has been placed on leave after testing positive for COVID-19, according to a statement released by his team Santos, which was cited by Brazilian media.
The 33-year-old was promptly taken out of team activities after exhibiting symptoms.
According to the Brazil Serie A team at the weekend, medical examinations later verified the viral illness.
In addition to not immediately answering a Reuters request for comment, the club did not reveal how long Neymar will be sidelined. Due to his ban, Neymar will not be playing in Thursday’s league game at Fortaleza.
Santos’ final game before the Brazilian league takes a break for the June 14–July 13 Club World Cup in the US will be in Fortaleza.
With his contract expiring on June 30, the former Barcelona forward’s future at Santos is still up in the air.
Despite being sidelined by injury, he has made 12 appearances for Santos this season in all competitions, tallying three goals and three assists.
