Residents of Ondo State have expressed optimism about Nigeria’s recovery, with many asserting that the nation will rise again in  2025.

In an interview with The Hope, Pastor Jacob Inusuneme of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Oke Ibukun, Agbaluku, Arigidi Akoko, expressed confidence in the nation’s ability to overcome its challenges.

He advised Nigerians to remain hopeful and resilient during these tough times.

He urged patience with the government and expressed optimism about potential positive changes to ease the ongoing economic difficulties.

The cleric pointed to the availability of fuel, despite its high pump price, and the rehabilitation of some refineries as signs of progress.

Pastor Inusuneme described 2024 as a year of economic rebirth for Nigeria and called on both Christians and non-Christians to increase their prayers and good deeds to support the country’s recovery.

Similarly, community stakeholder Mr. Onigbogi Adeleke reflected on the struggles of the past year while calling on the government to overhaul non-functional sectors.

Speaking during an outing with friends, Adeleke said, “2024 was loaded with hardship for Nigerians. It was not easy as we started with fuel at an exorbitant price, and the price of other items suddenly increased.

“Our governments at the Federal, State, and Local levels need to revive some sectors that are not working. It is not easy. We thank God it’s a new year, but the government should ease our burden, and I believe things will be better this year.”

A retiree, Mr. Ajiwoju Oke, also encouraged residents to remain patient with the Federal Government. He noted that the ongoing revitalisation of the country’s refineries signalled better times ahead.

He added, “things cannot be like this forever. I am optimistic that Nigeria will rise again. With time, the fuel price will reduce and become more affordable for the lower class.”
